Dr. Andrea Monge, formerly of FDA and HHS, will examine the Trump administration’s approach to prescription drug pricing, focusing on its use of trade policy and federal purchasing authority to address high U.S. drug costs. She will review key initiatives, including the GLOBE, GUARD, GENEROUS, and BALANCE models, as well as negotiations with pharmaceutical manufacturers around drug pricing, direct-to-consumer sales, and domestic investment. The discussion will also address the potential implications of these policies for drug prices, patient access, and pharmaceutical innovation.
